About
Garrett Beatty is a documentary and landscape photographer based in southern Indiana.
His work focuses on quiet spaces, working people, and the passing of time in small towns and rural environments. Through a blend of black-and-white and natural color photography, he seeks to preserve what often goes overlooked — aging storefronts, fading light, family land, mechanical shops, worn trails, and the rhythm of everyday life in the Midwest.
Garrett grew up in Mitchell and now lives in Bloomfield, Indiana. Much of his work is influenced by where he’s from — by old highways, county fairs, limestone quarries, and the stories of neighbors, veterans, and towns that haven’t changed much in decades. He shoots with a documentary approach, often working alone, with an eye for stillness and place.
His long-term photo project, Hoosier Brand, is both an upcoming print journal and a visual archive of Indiana, where each image is part of a larger story. Garrett also works under Hoosier Brand Studio, offering photography and design services to small businesses, artists, and community institutions across the state.
